A small finish and some progress....

Hi everyone,

It's been a while. I've had a slow beginning to 2018.
Oh well.

I have a little finish to share with you.
It's a small fidget quilt that I made for a work friends mother.
Her mother has Alzheimer's and lives in a home.
My work friend wanted hers and her kids names on it.
She wanted lady bugs.
She wanted some yellow and a cheerful quilt.
Other than that I had not direction.
I came up with this little quilt made from charm squares.
I added vintage trims, laces and buttons.
I made three dimensional flowers, and pennants with the names embroidered.
I did a lot of hand embroidery on this little quilt.
But it was a fun little project.

I hope you like it.

I've also been working on this quilt top designed by Diane from the Butterfly Threads blog.
I haven't been sewing regularly, so it's taking longer than it should to get this top done.
I have finished the center portion since this photo was taken.
I'm now working on the border blocks.
I hope to have this quilt top done in the next few weeks so that I can send it to my longarm quilter.

Both quilts are gorgeous, Ariane! How large are the squares in the star quilt? They look very small (= lots of cutting and sewing!).

The fidget quit is such a nice idea, I will have to look more into that and designs I can do.
Your quilt is amazing and beautiful fabric choices.

The fidget quilt is just adorable! The quilt guild that I go to has been talking about them and various people are thinking about making one. It's a great idea. I love your "star" quilt too! It will be amazing when you finish it.
